What if something goes wrong with my Surgery?

In August im getting a Posterior Spinal fusion for my scoliosis. They told me that I'd be in the hospital from 4-7 days and it would take 2 weeks to heal. Im extremely nervous that something might go wrong and I could be paralyzed. Im only 16, and i just need good advice so I'm not so paranoid :/
