You're cleaning it wrong. I have one. Do NOT use anything with peroxide or rubbing alcohol, etc. That will kill the white blood cells that try to fight any infection. Use hot water and non-iodized sea salt. Clean it about 3 or 4 times a day. That will keep it from getting irritated. It should take about 2-3 weeks to fully heal (to where it wont close). But for me it took a month. Have fun.
