Are conservatives and business-people intentionally tanking the economy in an effort to defeat Obama in 2012?

I know big business prefer Republicans, and their profits-trump-everything mentality. Are these people intentionally impeding growth so that Obama will lose and the Republican who gets in will get rid of all of those pesky regulations to keep our food, water, and safe? Not to mention the few regulations left against unfair business practices and financial shell games.
